Evidence of Learning
Briefly describe an example (or provide a hyperlink to your work) to demonstrate your level of learning.
1Examine how attitudes towards linguistic standards empower and oppress language users.Explore how views on language standards can affect speakers positively and negatively
5
LLN, I analyzed my own attitude and through it, expanded on the attitudes of others on the topic of language and then connecting to a larger, or rather a societal issue as a whole, and it was handled well in my opinion.

2Explore and analyze, in writing and reading, a variety of genres and rhetorical situations.Go over writing and reading aspects on multiple different categories and hypotheticals.4Shown through Translations, and I think I am good at it.
3Develop strategies for reading, drafting, collaborating, revising, and editing.Create personal techniques for tasks and skills of reading, drafting, collaborating and revising and editing.4Shown through all assignments as they require parts of each, they are my products, and show the skills and efforts displayed in them. Could use work though.
4Recognize and practice key rhetorical terms and strategies when engaged in writing situations.Understand and apply said techniques when presented in other formats and how to solve them.3Found in LLN, and Synthesis, although I’m not particularly well at doing it or do it enough, not my focus.
5Understand and use print and digital technologies to address a range of audiences.Be familiar with the more technological side of the writing aspects to make it more appealing and accessible. 5It’s easy, I’ve been doing it, evidently here on the digital portfolio, and in person by bringing paper copies 1 or 2 times as needed.
6Locate research sources (including academic journal articles, magazine and newspaper articles) in the library’s databases or archives and on the Internet and evaluate them for credibility, accuracy, timeliness, and bias.Research.3I’m not good at it but we did do it during that one class in the library and I think I did it fairly well, although I am not fluent with it.
7Compose texts that integrate a stance with appropriate sources, using strategies such as summary, analysis, synthesis, and argumentation.Combine everything said before with the research aspect.4It is presented in the synthesis essay of me combining the research with text, a bad skill with a good one.
8Practice systematic application of citation conventions.Cite your sources.1-5
There was only 1 instance, and in that I think I did good, but it was also really easy. The Synthesis essay is my example.
